About the Cause
We wanted to give back to the society that has given us so much! Hence, in order to celebrate Stimulus’ first anniversary as a completely youth-driven initiative, forging ahead, making strides in increasing accessibility to the brain sciences for a younger audience, we will be donating all proceeds from our workshop to Asha Niketan. Asha Niketan is a Kolkata based care home for adults and children with mental disabilities. What will the funds be used for: Asha Niketan is in dire need of funds to support essential medications for the disabled members of their community. The total cost of medications is ₹10,438 per month, and they're making an earnest appeal to donors to help them support their community members.
100% of our proceeds from the workshop will be donated to Asha Niketan, to support the cause they stand for.

Located in the heart of a poor urban neighbourhood, right next door to the Missionaries of the Charity home in Tangra, most of their residents have come from the Sisters next door. Both of their houses - Adi Bari and Thakur Bari are home to both adults & children with mental disabilities and their assistants. Adi Bari also houses a daycare centre where children with intellectual disabilities play, learn skills and their families receive guidance and support. They also have interactive workshops for adults which often involve making candles, tie & dye, batik & paper crafts, among other things. Our community is supported by live-in, day assistants and support staff, whose compassionate efforts have changed the lives of these people!

The most simple acts of benevolence — the ones we think of as “random acts of kindness” or “no big deal” — have the power to create an impact significant enough to change lives. Donorbox requires a minimum amount of ₹40 for processing purposes, however, we make an appeal to all those registering for the workshop, to donate any custom amount you would be comfortable with, so that “one simple act” from your end can provide essential medicines to those in need, in these unprecedented times.
We look forward to seeing you!
You will receive a link automatically through email for information regarding the workshop, once the payment has been processed. We hope to see you learn lots from this workshop and are grateful for your support towards the community!
