The Founders

STUTI CHAKRABORTY
Founder
Stuti Chakraborty is an Occupational Therapist, currently working at the brain injury rehabilitation unit in Christian Medical College, Vellore. Her passion for neurology and neuroscience was ignited after coming to college and being exposed to various people having neurological disorders leading to disability. She also realised that there was a general lack of awareness regarding recent developments in the area of research about brain sciences as an option for career pursuit, despite being an extremely interesting and challenging field to take up. Through this initiative, she wishes to be able to contribute towards narrowing such gaps and transform many young, impressionable minds into creative thinkers and scientific leaders of the future.
SASHA AGARWAL
Founder
Sasha is presently on a gap year, and she will be enrolling at Harvard next fall. Her academic interests lie at the intersection of neuroscience and psychology, and she is a passionate advocate of mental health. She is intrigued by the social, political, and environmental dimensions of global health, and volunteers much of her time to the cause. She spends her time advocating for mental health parity and awareness- both at the grassroot level and on international platforms. Through Stimulus, she hopes to foster a community of young scientific thinkers, and expose them to the many prospects and facets of brain science. She also aims to use her reach to uplift the specially-abled community, bridge gaps in educational resources, and dispel the notion that the life sciences and social sciences are mutually exclusive.
SHRIYA NAIDU
Founder
Shriya is a postgraduate in Neuro-psychology. She worked on projects that aimed at studying methods to improve interest in classrooms, using curiosity, at IIT Gandhinagar. While studying the interest gaps in the educational setups, she realised the need for innovative and engaging teaching styles that allow a holistic understanding of the subject matter. She believes that Stimulus can provide an interactive medium of learning and mentor-ship while fostering the spirit of academic curiosity among young prospective scientists. She hopes to instill an independence of thought and choice among budding scientists, allowing them to break the bounds of conventional methods of study. She dreams of a future where the Earth thrives and knowledge doesn't come with a price tag and she is working towards it through her efforts in decision making and climate change.
